Georgian Silver Paste Riviere
Stunning glowing red paste stones, made by hand in the 1830s. Coloured gemstones at this time were more highly prized than diamonds, and making coloured paste stones was an artform. Set in silver, with beautiful domed backs to the settings. Box and tongue catch and safety chain. Riviere necklaces have been popular since the 1700s, their name implies a 'river' of gems.
