Our Design Styles

This page is designed to give an overview of our design styles, and is a good place to start if you would like to commission us to make a bespoke piece of jewellery for you.

We can use your own sentimental gold or platinum, and we can incorporate gemstones you have, or source them for you. We also have a large collection of reclaimed and ethically sourced gemstones to choose from.

Alauna

Our Alauna Collection is inspired by the Roman history of our home town. combines everything that is close to our hearts. Alcester was originally the Roman settlement of Alauna, established around AD 47. It sits at the junction of the Arrow and the Alne rivers and had a network of workshops specialising in tanning, pottery and metalworking. Many beautiful items have been found over the years, and some of the jewellery and coins can be seen in the Roman Museum in the town.

I have always thought of jewellery as treasure, as a child I dreamed of digging up rings worn thousands of years ago. Our Alauna collection is our take on Roman jewellery, with rich textures and glowing gemstones. Our ever popluar cobblestone and snake rings are part of this collection, see below for more examples of Alauna designs.

Selkie

Our Selkie jewellery is made entirely by hand, with hand forged gold or platinum flowing around gemstones, feminine and unconventional.

Selkies are mythical creatures who are part seal, part human. The collection is inspired by the part of our nature at odds with the world we live in, the part that longs to return to nature and the sea and does so whenever it can.

Grace

Our Grace designs are inspired by Edwardian and Art Deco jewellery. I have loved this style forever, and working with antique jewellery means that we often get to see and handle beautiful original examples of this style. When we make these pieces, we use the same tools and techniques that were used to make it 100 years ago, applying each millegrained bead by hand and raising claws from solid metal, which gives an entirely different feel to CAD & cast bead claws. Jewellers are slow to change, and many of the techniques we use are unchanged over hundreds or even thousands of years. We love this link with our fellow jewellers of the past, and think it's important to carry these techniques on.

Warrior

These are those pieces of jewellery that feel like your armour. Bold, strong designs that don't shy away from being seen. These rings are to be worn to defend and protect the strongest version of yourself, on days that feel dark as well as those that are the brightest.

Adorned with beautiful vibrant gemstones protected by strong, shield like shapes. Unapologetically beautiful.
