Art Deco Bar Brooch

Beautifully made brooch in gold and platinum. A stunning step cut royal blue synthetic sapphire to the centre, with creamy white pearls and tiny diamonds. Made circa 1920. Synthetic sapphire have been produced since the 1870s and were prized in Art Deco jewellery for their vibrant colour, meaning they were often chosen over natural stones and set into exquisite pieces of jewellery.

The brooch pre-dates mandatory hallmarking laws, but we have tested the metals as 15ct gold and platinum. It is in beautiful condition, with a rollover safety catch.
