The most gorgeous frame of glittering old cut diamonds, surrounding a beautiful blue synthetic sapphire.

The first synthetic sapphires were made in 1873 following years of experimentation. Synthetic sapphires were very popular in the early 1900s, and these early synthetics hold a collectable value of their own. This cabochon stone shows the amazing clear cornflower blue colour achieved through these methods beautifully.

This ring is a true antique, with a gorgeous Art Deco style underbezel. As was typical at the time, the head (setting and underbezel) of the ring is made in white metal and the band is gold. In this case the band is rose gold, it isn't hallmarked but teste as 18ct gold and platinum.
